Big Sur

Hannah – Recently my husband and I had the opportunity to spend some time together on vacation in Big Sur for our 3 year anniversary! Here’s a peek into what I packed!

We stayed at an incredible place called “Treebones” Eco Resort. Treebones sits nestled among a lush mountainside overlooking miles of the Pacific. The view is INCREDIBLE, but what you really pay for is the exclusivity and peacefulness. Every morning we awoke to the soft barking of sea lions in the distance, among the sweet songs of California song birds. Treebones is completely off the grid. For electrical needs they utilize clean burning micro turbines developed in California. All excess energy is recycled and used to heat the pool/spa and bathroom floors. Treebones serves fruits and veggies from their on-site garden, and supports local growers. Anything not eaten, becomes compost or chicken meal.  An eco-traveler can choose from a variety of accommodations; yurts, treehouses, campsites, or even a human-sized bird nest! We stayed in a Sibley tent, but I would recommend any of the accommodations at Treebones, each is a unique experience! Treebones is the perfect vacation spot for those looking to relax while reducing their carbon footprint!

Big Sur is literally the most beautiful place I’ve ever seen. Add it to your bucket list if you have yet to experience it!

Thank you Treebones! We’ll be back soon!
